YG + Mnet Media = music powerhouse

Mnet Media and YG Entertainment are now official business partners.

Mnet has acquired 10% shares of YG Entertainment and YG Entertainment and also Yang Hyun Suk have secured a part of Mnet Media, which strengthened the partnership between the two companies.

The agreement between the two has also given Mnet Media the rights to exclusively distribute in Korea and abroad the albums and digital music of YG Entertainment singers.

According to Mnet Media President Park Kwang Won, Mnet Media not only has coverage on YG Entertainment’s music but also, in the future, its television and concert contents. Moreover, with its partnership with YG Entertainment, Park said that it will enable the two companies to be a music powerhouse in Asia.

  1. i dont know, but i LOVE THIS!!!

powerhouse! c’on supply us some energy!!

  2. YG is what got me started in following korean music, i’d just casually listen to 1tym/jinusean some years later… total kpop addiction.

mnet has the bubble gum crowd in check but i personally don’t think much will change between the two monsters.

  3. That’s what I call intelligent people.

  4. I really hope the collab will boost popularity of the artists outside Korea…

  5. @hyesung:
    you’re just darn stupid
Bubble gum is SM. Get your damn fact straight b4 speaking.
SG Wannabe, Seeya, F.T Island, Davich, Supernova ….. is bubble gum? Yeah rite!

  6. hmm.. interesting.
maybe mnet will teach yg how to show off the rest of his singers instead of just the main ones.
