J Tune Entertainment clarified the issue on Rain singing the 2008 Beijing Olympics theme song.

“There has been a mistake regarding Rain being offered by the Beijing Olympics Committee to sing the 2008 Beijing Olympics theme song. Rain received an offer from an agency in China to sing a theme song candidate for the Olympics but nothing concrete has been decided. In fact, the official theme song and official singer will be announced 100 days before the Olympics opening ceremony. Seeing news that Rain has been decided to sing the theme song also brought confusion inside the company. If Rain gets to participate in the Olympics event, wherein people all over the world will be joining, then it would be such a honor,” Jo Dong Won, J Tune representative, clarified.
